Goalie Camps - Make it a Family Affair!
You only have to take a quick look at some of the most famous names in the National Hockey League to see that hockey is truly a family affair; the Stahls, the Niedermayers, and the Wilsons are all active NHL personnel with brothers on the same or other teams. In fact most National Hockey League players with siblings probably grew up playing hockey with them in leagues and informally.
If you have more than one child in your family and you have an interest in hockey, then in all likelihood you have more than one child in the game. Of course, this is not limited to boys, as the number of girls becoming involved in minor hockey has seen a meteoric rise in the last few years.
Many parents choose to hone their child?s skills and advance their social lives as well by signing them up for sports camps. Hockey skill camps have been a very popular way for young hockey players to become properly grounded in the basics of the game as well as have a good time meeting other kids who have a similar interest in the sport.
Goalie camps are one aspect of hockey camps that concentrate specifically on one hockey position, seeking to up the skill level of those who play the position. If you have more than one goalie in your family, then signing them up for the same goalie camp can help in several areas.
First of all, most goalie camps will provide a reduced registration fee for each child signed up to the camp. This means that sending your kids to the same camp will mean some great savings for parents who are already investing quite a lot in the game!
Children who attend hockey camps, including goalie camps, with one or more siblings are also less likely to suffer from the homesickness or feelings of isolation that are an inevitable part of separation, no matter how tough a kid is. Having a sibling around lessens the feeling of being ?away?.
So when it comes to opportunities to enhance your child?s skill as a hockey goalie through a camp, why not consider making it a family affair? In the end, you will all benefit!
A hockey goalie drill called the Shoot, Curl, and Drive the Net has the goalie follow the play staying square and then butterfly at the appropriate time.

Summer Means Family Jetlag
It happens when you cross several time zones. Your circadian rhythms get out of whack and the bad news is experts consider it takes you about one day per time zone to adjust. How do the business travelers do it? But then how does a family do it ? when all of you are crabby and messed up and it?s supposed to be fun-time? There you are in treasured Ischia, which, incidentally is worse, because it?s going eastward (US to Europe) and nobody feels good. But is it any easier flying to Chichen Itza, on of the 7 wonders of the world? Time in the air is still time in the air.
